David Faber on CNBC’s Google ‘Watch’

I know people have been commenting on the fact that CNBC added GOOG to their on-screen ‘bug’ a couple of days ago. David Faber wrote about that decision on the SquawkBlog yesterday. Looks like David agrees that it was a ridiculous move and he basically says ‘blame it on management’. :-) A snippet of Faber’s post:

The brief inclusion of Google on our so called bug on the right side of our screen has aroused quite a bit of consternation on the part of some of my sources. I understand. On the face of it, it seems ridiculous and opens us up to charges of being a cheer leader for speculation. I don’t believe we should have it there since there is not a news event tied directly into Google’s share price. I don’t make those decisions, although GOOG has now been removed. But the decision to include it at all is reflective of a mind set in the market right now.
