Watchlist for July 8, 2005

There will be a moment (minute) of silence at 11 Eastern time for the victims of the London bombings:

CyberTrader and the NASDAQ will observe a moment of silence on Friday, July 8th from 11:00 a.m. until 11:01 a.m., ET. NASDAQ® will request that market participants refrain from trading during this period.

And speaking of the attacks, Duru has deconstructed much of the commentary about the reasons for yesterday’s market reaction. It just confirms that nobody really knows what moves the markets, especially in the very short term. IMHO, there are just too many players involved with varying motivations to be able to pinpoint a reason for a certain move.
