The Englishman Trader stopped by today to check out my trading system. I met him (possibly for the second time since he’s a friend of my brother‘s) at our little Atlanta Meetup last week. He did a write-up about what he saw today — my software and hardware and even gave away some of my market reading secrets.
He’s paper trading now while he’s still working in corporate America but is well on his way to making the leap to trading for a living. He’s got some really good posts on his blog about his learning process which should be useful to anyone considering going into trading.

Excellent post. Thanks, Mike.
I am using my laptop and a 17inch LCD. I mainly run the external LCD with a few intraday charts and level 2 and times and sales for several stocks that I am holding and may want to get in. I definitely watch the QQQQ as that influences most of the Nasdaq traded stocks. On my laptop screen, I have my trading platform (Interactive Brokers) with buy/sell orders on standby waiting for me to click submit.
I am thinking of using a second computer and another external for briefing’s inplay and more charts to keep up. Perhaps to follow some blogs and personal charting using my Taxi 1.5 program.
Good luck, Mike.
Gee Mike, sorry to give away your secrets. I did want to to get too deep into your trading style since each trader has to develop their own style they are comforatble with but I wanted to describe the physical setup and give some high-level info on how it works together.
Thanks for letting me come on over. I still hope you will let me come on over and see you trade live sometime.
I was just joking about that. I have no trading secrets. I have no problem telling people how I trade.
Be prepared to get a handle on the dry British sense of humour (no, that’s not a mis-spelling).
