The Englishman Trader got his account funded and began trading ‘live’ this week. He made a post last night that discusses some of his lessons learned. As you’ll see while paper trading is a great way to test out your system there are other factors to consider once you start trading for real, namely trade execution/routing and slippage. I don’t worry about execution too much because I usually get very good and quick executions with the CyberExchange orders that I use. But slippage is always at the forefront of my mind. That’s why I tend to stay away from those little and/or illiquid stocks.

Thanks both of you, Mike and Englishman Trader, for just being honest and talking about your experiences. Its great to hear about what you are doing and it helps me, and I assume a lot of other people, out more than you might realize.
Kurt,
You’re welcome. I’m glad you’re finding the info on our sites helpful.
Teresa Lo had a post on her site recently, called “Real Life,” where she discusses the Englishman Trader’s recent post and dissects his losing trades:

She doesn’t mention him by name, but imagine my surprise when I followed the link you show above and saw that it was the post I had just read about on her site.
