- 10:30 Speaking of IPOs, CYNO is definitely one to watch. From Briefing.com: CYNO Cynosure IPO begins trading after strong pricing (18.96 +3.96)
Cynosure opens for trading at $16.99, after pricing its IPO at $15, above the expected range of $12-14. The co makes devices that use lasers to permanently remove hair, to treat vascular issues, rejuvenate skin etc. The co believes it is one of only a few cos that offers aesthetic treatment systems utilizing Alexandrite and pulse dye lasers, which are particularly well suited for some applications and skin types. In Sept 2003, the co recruited a new management team that has implemented a comprehensive reorganization of the company. The co is profitable and revs for the 9 mos ended Sep 30 increased 36% yr/yr to $40.1 mln. Competitors include CLZR, CUTR, ELOS, LSCP, PMTI… The timing of this IPO was very good as the sector has been a huge mover. In just the past 5 weeks: CLZR +57%, CUTR +53%. Also, ELOS has been one of the biggest IPO winners in the last 2 years. This is a 5 mln share deal led by Citigroup with Jefferies, Needham and UBS as co-managers.
