The Nasdaq’s set to gap up several points this morning which I think is mainly due to Google’s pop after being including in the S&P 500. Speaking of which, I wonder the price at which this ANALyst will get credit for his/her upgrade (emphasis is mine):
Stifel upgrades GOOG to Buy from Hold and raises their tgt to $435 from $404. The firm expects Google shares to be up materially this morning as it was announced last evening that the co was being added to the S&P 500. The firm upgrades the shares on fundamentals and the they believe fundamentals support a potential 20% upside from current levels while the S&P addition accounts for the remaining 7%.
Wow, what a crystal ball! They expect it to be up this morning? The stock jumped about 8% last night immediately after the S&P announcement. Hopefully that call gets marked on the books with the stock at 370 as opposed to 340, where it was before the news hit.
