Wallstrip…please tell the world something we dont already know! This is all old AAPL news to anyone with half a brain…How about picking the sleepers out there or a retailer like CAB that has been left for a dead growth story but it’s well controlled management style proved all of Broad & Wall wrong again.
This info about CAB is worth more than your AAPL story to investors.

Overall I like the style and content, especially the discussion after the video clip.
I think Mikey misses the point. If the effort was “merely” designed to find “sleepers” amid the stocks making new highs, they wouldn’t need a video blog to do it, and they could show Howard for the whole time. The point is not “just” actionable analysis.
The point is to make it fun and entertaining, and to drive some web 4.48 buzz. In order to further those points, it needs to be new, i.e. video blog with Revver. It needs to be fun, i.e. get some eye candy to do the presentation. Let’s face it, most traders/investors are more interested in seeing a twenty-something woman in tight shirts and “Gee, I bet she had to shave!” low-riders than they are in seeing a 40-something guy with a funny nose – and this is coming from a 39-year-old with a funnier nose.
In order to make it mainstream and viewable, you need a widely-held “glamour” stock like AAPL. Waste Connections Inc (WCN) made some significant highs, and Howard and Mike could do a special video on it live from their headquarters in Folsom, but who would watch THAT?

As always, Bill, you get right to the heart of the matter!

Will the cool, funny, original style of Wallstrip.com pull in a new and broader audience that have eclipsed the bloggers at their sites? Or will it just do a blogger audience brain drain? Will we read their stuff at either their blogs or at Wallstrip.com, but not both?
Or will the dynamic nature of Wallstrip.com generate new content along with a wider audience that has eclipsed the blogging world at this moment? In any case, the Market will decide, and Howard is one creative, courageous tough dude.

Just finished reading my daily Dr. Brett and decided to watch the clip - sigh - I think if you could bring the kinds of information that Dr. Brett does to a video presentation with graphics and other effects it would probably “generate buzz” - but tired old Apple followed by a lecture on support and resistance - oh wowser - wowser - oh where do I sign up?????

Everyone is entitled to their opinion - mine is that it was short and entertaining, and I enjoyed it and will watch again. I don’t look to blogs or videos for stock picks - I look to them for entertainment and to give me new info and insights. I think WallStrip.com will do that.
And Mike - I think your new pic kicks ass. I like it a lot.

Going by the first episode its a dud and the anchor looks silly, it is poorly scripted and the jokes fall flat. Very amateurish thing.
The so called expert commentary by bloggers is even worse. If investors are going to invest based on this then all the best. As long as this kind of uninformed non sense continues, traders with edge do not have to worry.

Some people miss the point so badly it’s almost not worth talking about. Will post on it later.

Howard is a very funny guy. I like his chutzpah! There’s not a whole lot to say about AAPL that we traders don’t already know. But Howard made me LOL and I’ll take that over CNBC anytime.

Hey congrats Mike and everyone that worked so hard to get WallStrip up and running, and to all the contributors as well that took time out of their lives to add their thoughts and analysis. Nice job.

Thanks for the comments folks, good and bad. Although I almost had to call Site Security on Pradeep

I enjoyed seeing the different takes on a particular stock, by premier traders with very different methodologies.
I could careless about the particular stock, Mr. Moneymaker, whether it be AAPL or CAB. What interested me was getting a feel for the different trading styles.
I’m looking forward to what’s ahead!

Wallstrip; where stock culture meets pop culture! Neat concept. I thought it was cool…….short, sweet, hosted well with some fun and laffs. I’ll watch it again.
Negative comments above suggest something like: “Wallstrip; where stock culture brainfarts in pop culture’s face”
‘They’ always come out don’t they!
Anyway, congrats Mike on being part of something good.
AAPL comments and charts

great comments.
Lindsay is smart. Period. She is col - period. I have certain favorite stocks that have a wide appeal and once we get them out of my sytem and get a rhythm and the kinks worked out, you will also see a strategy with merit.
Until our budget grows and time allows - the show is about trends. Obviously not for daytraders but I like the contributors wide range of deep and varied content.
To just dismiss it is fine but wrong.
We have no chance of pleasing everyone. the point is to get conversation going - critics are always welcome

Y’all please consider adding some point/counterpoint content. All contributors lining up to sing “hail to [Wallstrip stock du jour]” will wear thin really quickly.
Maybe Michael could play the spoiler. “I know Howard likes so-and-so, but here’s why I think this thing is a three-legged mongrel!”
The idea is great, the format is novel, and Lindsay, well, I peeked over into X’s dream balloon, and he’s completely right. But it’s thought-provoking content (even if it has to be newspaper-level) that will make or break the business.
Just my 2c — best of luck guys, I’m rootin’ for ya.

Will,
You make a great point. That was a concern of mine as well. We tried to invite some perma-bears but they refused to come out of their dens. Maybe I will play the spoiler, just for kicks.
By howard lindzon on Oct 17, 2006 | Reply
Mike says it right. The perma bears that are so boisterous on their own sites were not returning our calls. That said - I am not a perma bull, just focused on stocks in up trends.
Oprah vs. Montel. Both successful. One is a thousandaiir and one is billionaire though
One is in the mud and one chases the positive.
I think Michael palying spoiler is a great idea for now.
Micheal - buzz me.
