July 9, 2007 Stock Market Recap

It was a pretty quiet day today which ended with gains of about 0.1% for the indices I track. Volume increased above last week’s holiday levels but was still on the light side. I’m always suspicious of low volume rises and this time is no different, especially for the S&P 500 which has been making lower highs and lower lows for the last month or so.

The Russell is also range-bound…

The Nasdaq pushed to a new high last week and isn’t looking back.
