I’m Halfway Back From Vacation…

Did anything interesting happen in the market while I was away? ;-) I hope you’ve all navigated the big slide well and took the clues from Duru’s mention of T2108 being at extreme levels and Cramer capitulating to cover your shorts and/or get long before yesterday. I’m looking forward to going through my scans and starting to do recaps again but I won’t be back to full speed for another week or so.

One reason for that is that I am once again going to move my account to a different broker. I just haven’t been able to get used to ThinkorSwim’s interface. Either I’m officially an old dog (I turn 40 on July 28th) or the interface just doesn’t work well with the way I like to trade. So I think I’m gonna jump on the Interactive Brokers bandwagon.

I also have to attend to some family matters. So my focus will be on that for the next several days. I’ll try to get a recap out over the weekend and will do a couple or three more next week. Hopefully posting will resume its normal pace on the 28th or 29th.

    Mike, welcome back.

You might want to ask Stephen Vita about Interactive. In a comment a few months ago, he was unhappy with them.

I turned 40 in the last year also. It’s interesting, but not that much. Try to ignore it! And 40 is definitely not old anymore.

You’re not alone pal. And welcome back.

Sorry but I missed your post where you switched from Schwab (aka) cybertrader– Whats so hard from schwab’s standpoint to implement cybertrader?? I do find schwab to be a bit slower in execution too–on cybertrader you could hit buy and cancel and could actually see it cancel the order –on schwab you can go make tea and come back and still its cancel pending…….

Keep us posted how interactive goes.

I use both IB and ToS and found that IB is occasionally plagued with network issues. It will be fine for months, then for about a week, it’ll drop 2-3 times a day.

To be fair, it could be my podunk residential connection. Although, you’d think that my ToS platform would be effected as well.

Give Think or Swim some more time, you might get used to it and enjoy it!

    Welcome back Mike.
Looking forward to your market recaps and how you are going to adapt IB in your trading. I use IB myself. No complaints so far.
